Hitmen one win away from sweep

Joel Broda notched a goal and two assists to lead the Calgary Hitmen to a 4-1 win over the Edmonton Oil Kings in Western Hockey League playoff action last night at Rexall Place.

With the win the Hitmen now have a commanding 3-0 lead in their opening-round best-of-seven series against the Oil Kings, who finished 55 points behind Calgary in the regular-season standings.

Alex Plante, Brandon Kozun and Chase Schaber also scored for the Hitmen, while Bostjan Golicic chipped in with three assists.

Robin Soudek scored the lone goal of the game for the Oil Kings, who will attempt to stave off elimination tomorrow night (7 p.m.) when they host Game 4 of the series.
