The highly anticipated storm hitting the East Coast has already started wreaking havoc for travelers across the country. The storm's ripple effect had delayed more than 6,000 flights, some up to two hours, Wednesday morning, with more expected throughout the day.

More than a foot of snow could fall in western Pennsylvania, western New York and Vermont before conditions improve Thursday, according to the National Weather Service.

Travelers stranded in airports and train stations took to Twitter to voice their frustration. In an attempt to kill time, passengers are getting creative. Some are watching Justin Bieber videos from 2oo9. Others are getting to know their fellow travelers in transit. Some have just turned to drinking.
