Office parties may be a time to let loose at work, but it doesn't stop the projects from piling up, a new survey shows. Seven out of 10 professionals surveyed by staffing service firm Accountemps said their workloads either increase or stay the same during the holidays.
“In many industries, multiple projects must be completed before the close of the quarter and the year, making it an especially busy period,” said Max Messmer, chairman of Accountemps. “Many employees also take vacation days during the holidays, which can leave fewer staffing resources available.”
Accountemps said better planning of both projects and who can take time off when during the holidays can help cut down on the increased holiday workload.
