Sam Holland keeps rolling along.

Fresh off winning the Nova Scotia Golf Association men's amateur championship Saturday, the 18-year-old Ken-Wo member kept things going in the first round of junior provincials, firing a four-under par 67 at the Seaview Golf and Country Club yesterday in North Sydney.

Holland, who had five birdies and a bogey on his card, is one stroke ahead of defending junior champion Eric Locke of Digby Pines. Eric Banks of Truro is in third after shooting an even-par 71.

On the girls side, Bedford's Irene Jung of the Links of Penn Hills is the leader after firing a four-over par 75. Jung, a 15-year-old from Bedford, is the reigning junior champion, and enjoys a four-stroke lead over Brynn Tomie from the Northumberland Links.
