The deaths of two young adults struck and killed by an LRT train have been deemed non-criminal.
“We cannot speculate on why these two individuals were on the tracks or comment on the evidence gathered,” said Dave Spiers, staff sergeant with Edmonton’s homicide section.
Homicide was called in to investigate the incident, which happened Nov. 9 on the tracks near 82 Street and 113 Avenue, because of witness reports. Jamie Kootenay, 19, died on the scene, while Delia Papastesis, also 19, died in hospital.
