HopeCuts 16th Annual Hair Design Competition

Another hair-raising event this weekend will benefit cancer and HIV/AIDS research.

Saturday, October 22 (tomorrow!), Voyeur Night Club will host Scaredy Cats 2: The Shriek-quel, a hair design competition benefiting City of Hope, a research and treatment center for cancer, diabetes and other life-threatening diseases. Presented by City of Hope, HopeCuts and Raylon Corporation, the competition challenges stylists from Philadelphia salons to put their talent to the test. Awards categories include Best use of hair color, most intricate design, most outrageous hair design, best use of makeup and best theme.

City of Hope has been honored by the National Cancer Institute with designation as a comprehensive cancer center and is a founding member of the National Comprehensive Cancer Network. It is a pioneer in the fields of bone marrow transplantation and genetics with research and treatment protocols that impact care throughout the country.

Guests will be treated to unique and outlandish costumes, complete with mile-high hair, cocktails, music and dancing all night. Tickets are $25 for general admission and $10 with VIP invite. The party starts at 8pm and will last into the wee hours.
