Conflicts reported in Scarborough
The provincial government intends to appoint a supervisor to run the Scarborough Hospital, a move it hopes will settle conflicts between the hospital board and community groups.
Health Minister George Smitherman announced this week he will seek cabinet approval for the appointment.
David Spencer, spokesperson for the minister, said appointing a supervisor is rare, but they believe it has the best possible chance at bringing the hospital into a stable position.
“The conflict is not a situation we were prepared to see go on any longer,” he said.
