Vancouver hotel rates remain high despite the end of the Winter Olympics, according to a report released yesterday.

Despite falling rates in other Canadian cities this month, Vancouver and Victoria hotels have yet to offer the types of discounts seen elsewhere, the March 2010 Hotwire Canadian Hotel Rate Report says.

Calgary topped the list with a drop of 10 per cent. Edmonton, London, Ont., and, for the first time, Ottawa rounded out the Top 5 with hotels in those cities offering a seven, two and one per cent drop, respectively.

According to Hotwire, which releases its report at the beginning of each month, it’s just a matter of time before Vancouver hotels lower their rates again.
