Hotel stabbing leaves Nova Scotia man dead

JASPER, Alta. – A hotel fight in an Alberta mountain community has left a Nova Scotia man dead.

RCMP say officers responding to a disturbance call in Jasper on the weekend found Kenzie John Beaton with what appeared to be stab wounds.

Beaton, who was 22, was airlifted to an Edmonton hospital where he died.

Media reports say Beaton was originally from Mabou on Cape Breton Island, but had moved to Alberta and was on a ski weekend in Jasper.

Cody Kyle Jensen of Edmonton has been charged with second-degree murder.

The 21-year-old is to appear in Jasper provincial court Feb. 9.
