VANCOUVER — Vancouver police say the latest shooting in the city appears to be a targeted attack but they can’t say if it is part of a continuing gang war sweeping across the Lower Mainland.
Inspector Bob Chapman says someone fired several shots from the lane outside a small East Vancouver hotel at around 2:30 Friday morning.
The bullets smashed through a the window of a suite where six people were partying, hitting one man in the arm.
Chapman says police arrived and cleared the suite, sending the injured man to hospital where he is expected to recover.
But Chapman notes the incident was complicated when one of the people from the hotel room refused to leave, although he was eventually coaxed out of the unit.
The five people from the room are being questioned but investigators are still looking for the suspect who fired the shots.
