A burning ban on open air fires has been lifted in HRM.

The ban from Halifax Regional Fire and Emergency service was placed last week due to drier-than-normal temperatures that caused 67 brush and grass fires from March 1 to late last week.

The fire and emergency services are reminding residents that future burning bans can occur at a moment’s notice.

Officials are also encouraging residents to continue using caution when having fires in and around woodlands and to make sure you can control the fire, otherwise extinguish it.
