The Huskies, who knocked the Dalhousie Tigers out of the tournament in the semifinals with a 3-2 overtime win on Saturday, edged the defending champion Cape Breton Capers 2-1 yesterday in the AUS final in Moncton.

David Inglis opened the scoring for the Huskies in the 32nd minute. Shayne Hollis tied it at 59:22, but just 67 seconds later, Elvir Gigolaj buried the game-winner. The Huskies, who won silver medals at nationals in 2000 and 2003, head to Toronto for the Canadian Interuniversity Sport championship starting Nov. 11.

At the women’s tournament in Wolfville, Saint Mary’s and Dalhousie lost in the semifinals.
