The Saint Mary’s Huskies men’s basketball team won its fourth straight game and sixth of seven in Wolfville last night. The Huskies squeaked past the host Acadia Axemen 82-80 to improve to 8-3 and take sole possession of second place in Atlantic University Sport.
First-year point guard Joey Haywood contributed 24 points, six steals, six assists and six rebounds for the Huskies, while Mark McLaughlin added 18 points.
In the women’s game, the Huskies lost 69-43.
