The Saint Mary’s Huskies entered “training camp mode” this week as they enjoyed a bye to the Atlantic University Sport Loney Bowl at Huskies Stadium on Nov. 14.
The Huskies await the winner of Saturday’s 1 p.m. semifinal clash between the St. Francis Xavier X-Men (6-2) and the Acadia Axemen (2-6), live on EastLink.
“We’re just getting healthy, trying to stay focused … And not screw up,” joked head coach Steve Sumarah. “Lots of individual work, review periods … Training-camp mode.”
The Huskies have also appealed a three-game suspension to running back Devon Jones, who allegedly punched a player in a Week 7 win over St. Francis Xavier. They’re waiting for a ruling, but might not get one until Monday.
