Q: What are your fondest memories of your family kitchen?

A: My mother and I have been close all my life. My fondest day was sitting at our kitchen table and eating an entire box of chocolate covered cherries she had received for Valentine’s Day. We ate while we were gossiping. Both of us were so sick. We couldn’t sleep that night because we were so wired.

Q: What kitchen aromas bring back fond memories?

A: My grandmother would always be baking. She made apple pie, chocolate chip cookies, poppyseed cakes and everything else you can think of. When I smell baking I think of her.

Q: How did the first meal you prepared turn out?

A: When I was a kid I cooked pork chops. I baked the pork chops too long and burnt them. I cooked the potatoes too long and they were like rocks.

Q: Do you use cookbooks?

A: I love cookbooks. I collect them. After my unsuccessful cooking when I was a kid, I was turned right off of cooking anything. But, I love reading recipes.

Q: What kitchen gadget can’t you live without?

A: My cleaning lady, I adore her. She makes my kitchen sparkle!
