I’m Getting Arrested: There’s an app for that

These days, you can do just about anything on your smartphone: order food, get directions, change your flight and, most importantly, let friends and family know when you get arrested.

That’s right, a new app for Android called “I’m Getting Arrested,” comes in the midst of hundreds of arrests since the start of the Occupy Wall Street movement and many others around the country. It lets you notify multiple phone numbers with a text message in the event that you’re detained.

Just enter your ready-to-send message into the app prior to heading into a massive protest that is surrounded by a small army of police, and you’re ready to go!

Once you open the app and click the bullseye, the message will be sent to your selected family, friends and lawyer.

We can only foresee one, glaringly obvious dilemma with this app– accessing your Android from your pocket and opening an app might be just the tiniest bit difficult in handcuffs.
