Icy roads cause three car flips over weekend

Icy roads caused three car-flipping accidents around the HRM over the weekend.

A vehicle on Owen Drive in Dartmouth lost control on the ice, hit a snow bank and flipped onto its roof on Saturday night. Police say the driver suffered only minor injuries.

Then an hour later (at 10 p.m.), a vehicle on Highway 111 slid off the road near the Main Street exit. It flipped onto its side and again the lone occupant of the vehicle walked away with minor injuries.

At 1 a.m. Sunday morning, a vehicle on Dunbrack Street near Willett Street lost control, hit a snow bank and flipped onto its side. The driver escaped with minor injuries and firefighters were called in to clean up leaking fluids from the car.
