Police have yet to identify the man killed in a single-vehicle accident early Saturday morning in Dartmouth.

The driver in his mid-20s lost control and struck a power pole on Prince Albert Road near Sinclair Street around 1 a.m., according to police. The driver was pronounced dead at the scene. His identity is being withheld until next of kin is notified, police say.

Accident investigators spent several hours at the scene early Saturday, with Prince Albert Road closed between Sinclair and Hawthorne streets for several hours.

The cause of the crash is still under investigation.
