In Pictures: Thousands turn out to Run For The Cure in Ottawa

More than 9,000 people attended, the 17th annual Ottawa-Gatineau Run for the Cure at LeBreton Flats this weekend, raising $1.6 million.

Canada’s largest single-day, volunteer-led event for the breast cancer cause, Run for the Cure funds research, education and awareness programs through the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation.

“I think this is awesome,” said participant and Kanata resident Rob Carrothers, who ran with a team.

“Everybody’s affected by (breast cancer).”
