In this corner, a new contender for mayor

Daryl Bonar is no stranger to a tough fight, and the mayoral candidate is expecting his campaign drive to be nothing but.

Bonar launched his fall campaign drive, revolving around the theme ‘Fight Back’, at National Kickboxing.

“We are now less than two months from Oct. 18, it’s time to put this campaign into high gear,” said the Canadian Forces second lieutenant.

“This city needs leadership and someone in the mayor’s seat who will be willing to make the hard decisions required to keep Edmonton great for all Edmontonians.”

Bonar will not be alone on the campaign battlefield, however; Cris Basualdo said she’s ready to fight crime in the city’s central Ward 6 neighbourhoods.

“I am a grassroots community advocate,” said the Alberta Avenue resident.

“Having served on numerous resident-led boards and organizations, from community leagues to revitalization committees, over the better part of 15 years, I know a thing or two about working together with neighbours and organizations to achieve results locally.”

Edmonton’s municipal election takes place Oct. 18.
