Indecent acts spur warning from police

Calgary police are appealing for help after a string of indecent acts at a concealed northwest school park and surrounding area.

Staff Sgt. Greg Johnston said these incidents of exposure are not normal and it was appropriate to give the public warning.

“School is back on Aug. 27, so we would like to make sure that we are dealing with this situation in an expeditious manner,” said Johnston.

Two incidents occurred on Aug. 10 and 17 at the playground at Captain John Palliser School in the 1400 block of Northmount Drive NW.

While investigating, police were made aware of another incident that occurred on June 24 in the same area.

Johnston believes the incidents are related because of the description of the offender: A white male, 35 to 45 years old, five feet, seven inches to five feet, 11 inches tall, heavy set, clean shaven, balding, with tanned skin and a pot belly, who was riding a blue or black bike.

Johnston said the victims weren’t spoken to or harmed.

Two more incidents are also being investigated.

Anyone with information is asked to contact District 3 at (403) 567-6300.
