A three-vehicle collision occurred at 105 Street and 97 Avenue just before11 a.m. Wednesday morning.

A Toyota Corolla travelling at a high rate of speed northbound on 105 Street, a one-way road, struck the back of another vehicle. This caused the Corolla to careen off the road and strike a GM pickup truck, also travelling northbound on 105 Street. The Corolla then lost control, rolled and flipped on its side.

The 45-year-old male driver of the vehicle, who was trapped inside, was freed by Edmonton Fire Rescue before being treated by paramedics and taken to hospital with serious, but non-life-threatening injuries.

It’s unknown at this time if alcohol or drugs played a factor in the collision. The driver of the Corolla is facing charges of dangerous driving.

No one else was injured in the collision.
