It looks like the Halifax Mooseheads will see their highly touted European pick skating at training camp.

Martin Frk’s agent, Allan Walsh, has revealed the talented forward will be heading to Halifax for training camp.

Via his Twitter account, @walsha, Walsh said on Sunday afternoon the 16-year-old left-winger has “arrived in Montreal to participate in our Octagon summer training camp and will be heading to Halifax” on Aug. 15.

In a later Tweet, Walsh said “his release (from Czech club Karlovy Vary) is not yet finalized,” but “we expect to have it soon.”

The Mooseheads drafted Frk third overall in the Canadian Hockey League import draft.

Pegged as a potential first-round choice in the 2012 NHL draft, Frk had 28 goals and 27 assists for 56 points, along with 184 penalty minutes, in 39 games at the Czech under-20 level last season.

Mooseheads general manager Cam Russell said his scouts refer to Frk as a “Cam Neely type” — a power forward who can score and play with a mean streak.
