‘It made me feel like a second-class citizen’

A Vancouver city councillor says he felt personally degraded by comments made by CSIS director Richard Fadden toward the Chinese community.

“It made me feel like a second-class citizen,” Coun. Kerry Jang said yesterday.

In a June interview with the CBC, Fadden alleged foreign governments are influencing Canadian politicians, and singled out B.C., Ontarian and Chinese governments.

“The first thing that came to my mind was casting suspicions like this is what got the Japanese interned,” said Jang.
