The IWK Telethon for Children is celebrating another record-breaking year, raising more than $5.4 million for the hospital that’s based in Halifax but helps sick kids across the Maritimes.
“We are extremely excited and thankful to all of our donors who have made this happen,” Robbie Shaw, president of the IWK Health Centre Foundation, said in a news release shortly after the annual event wrapped up.
The telethon ran on CTV from Saturday evening to Sunday evening and, in celebration of the telethon’s 25th anniversary, featured entertainment from musicians such as Lennie Gallant and a special appearance by actress Ellen Page.
