Another record-breaking IWK Telethon for Children is in the books.

The 26th annual event held over the weekend for the IWK Health Centre in Halifax saw $5,420,527 raised, breaking last year’s old record total by just over $10,000.

The telethon, broadcast live on CTV from Saturday to Sunday evening, is put on by the IWK Health Centre Foundation. The foundation raises funds to support the areas of greatest needs for the hospital, used by women, children, youth and families from across the Maritimes.

Funding from this telethon will go to purchase priority medical equipment, fund research and support programs for patients and families.
