Julian Assange, the founder of WikiLeaks, has allegedly accused a group of journalists of being behind a “Jewish conspiracy” against the website.

Ian Hislop of U.K.-based Private Eye magazine claims that Assange said the magazine should be ashamed of itself for “being part of an international smear campaign against WikiLeaks.”

Hislop says Assange named three well-known journalists and The Guardian newspaper as being behind the so-called “Jewish conspiracy.”

When Hislop reminded Assange that at least one of the men named was not Jewish, Assange appeared to backtrack, Hislop said, telling him to “forget the Jewish thing.”

Assange, who faces extradition from the U.K. to Sweden to face rape charges, has issued a stern denial of Hislop’s claims.
