You have to love a server who means hot when she says hot. At JiXiang — in the former China Classic space — the spicy Szechwan-style dishes are loaded with chili peppers.

We try several selections including a lunch combo of Gong Bao Chicken, steamed rice and an eggroll. The eggroll is tasty but the Gong Bao is excellent — chunks of tender meat mixed with red and green peppers, onions, peanuts and tofu – living up to its promise as a spicy dish.

Hot and Sour Soup is steaming hot and rich with flavour with egg, onion and tofu.

Mixed Vegetables include nicely cooked broccoli, red and green peppers, onions and corn. Twice Cooked Pork has a kick that lasts. The thinly sliced meat is tossed with peppers, onions, lemongrass and many little chiles.

The servings are generous, the service is excellent and the menu has many more tempting dishes for another day.
