John Mayer insists his breakup with Jennifer Aniston hasn’t influenced his songwriting, femalefirst.co.uk reports.
The singer is about to start work on his fifth album but has denied he will draw on recent events in his personal life for his new material. He said: “I’ll be writing about the same things I always wrote about.”
Despite his insistence at keeping Jennifer out of his music, the singer debuted a new track, Heartbreak Warfare, last weekend, with many speculating the song was penned following the couple’s separation.
The song includes the lines: “Once you want it to begin/No one really ever wins/In Heartbreak Warfare/If you want more love/why don’t you say so?/If you want more love/why don’t you say so?”
