It’s usually our colour, but Metro’s role in Earth Day celebrations should have other newspapers turning green with envy.
Canada’s No. 1 free daily newspaper is a proud sponsor and participant in Earth Day at Downsview Park at the southeast corner of Keele Street and Sheppard Avenue West. The free event, taking place at the park on Sunday, April 20, between 11 a.m. and 4 p.m., will showcase food, crafts and various other products from exhibitors including the Toronto Vegetarian Association, the Women’s Healthy Environments Network and Earthroots.
Not to be outdone, representatives of Metro, in partnership with Warner Bros., will be on hand at the festivities at a 10x10 booth, where patrons can test their knowledge of environmentally friendly subject matter by answering trivia questions. Winners get free DVD films and documentaries courtesy of Warner Bros. that focus on the subject of climate change, including Leonardo DiCaprio’s The 11th Hour.
Earth Day at Downsview Park goes rain or shine.
