Group home care workers must deal with members of the same sex if the resident is known for aberrant sexual behaviour, a provincial judge recommended yesterday.
In the report Judge Lloyd Malin also said care workers should only be assigned to clients they can physically manage.
He added group homes must hold meetings to discuss problematic residents.
The recommendations follow an inquiry into the death of an Albertan female care worker who was raped and killed by a group home resident six years ago.
