Jury selection is underway today for an Edmonton filmmaker who is charged in a life-imitates-art murder.

Police have accused independent filmmaker Mark Twitchell of acting on his own film-script storyline in the murder of Johnny Altinger back in October 2008.

Twitchell’s film, House of Cards, portrays a psychotic killer masquerading as a woman on a dating website who lures male victims to a darkened garage and beheads them in cold blood.

Altinger went missing on Oct. 10, 2008 after telling friends he had met a woman online and was going to meet her at a south side Edmonton home, say police.

Police have not found Altinger’s body but say their investigation has produced enough evidence.
