Four days and four nights on a Queen Street West sidewalk is a small price to pay for a pair of the hottest sneakers on Earth.
About half a dozen young men from as far as Buffalo, N.Y. have camped outside the Stolen Riches shoe store since Tuesday.
The shop has been allotted a dozen pairs of the ultra exclusive Nike Air Yeezy, a shoe inspired and designed by rapper and fashion icon Kanye West.
Only 3,000 are being released worldwide.
“I just love sneakers. It’s the first thing I look at when I see someone. I love the colours and the styles — just anything that catches my eye,” said Shane Flatts, 24, a courier from Ajax.
“I’m just trying not to look at the time. People keep stopping: ‘You’re lining up for shoes?’ They think we’re crazy,” said Jake Navarro, 21, from Mississauga. He isn’t sure if he would bother lining up for an iPhone or concert tickets.
