Kick off your day with a nutritious smoothie

Smoothies are a quick, easy and nutritious way to start your morning. They are especially great for kids and picky, non-breakfast eaters.

When you are on the go each day, foods and nutrients you often lack in your diet are fruits, calcium, fibre, complex carbohydrates, vitamins and minerals. The answer in a glass is a smoothie, which can include all of these.

Most importantly, they contain antioxidants, which boost your immune system and may reduce the risk of heart disease and certain cancers.

Here are a couple of delicious and healthy smoothies. Experiment and make up your own. Keeping a variety of frozen fruits on hand is a great way to make these anytime of the year.
