Hundreds of children and parents headed to the zoo yesterday to end their long weekend with a bang.
It was Easter Monday at the Valley Zoo, and there were hours of activities and events for the whole family to enjoy.
Some events included hands-on science experiments, craft making, book readings and live music.
One mother, Karyn Devittorio, was visiting from New York with her son. She came to the zoo with some friends and said she was pretty impressed with the event. “It was a great day to come out and it’s always a lot of fun for the kids,” she said.
Her seven-year-old son, Louis, was too busy to stop with his mom, as he was reviewing the life cycle of a frog and checking out a snake skin.
Even though they had just started their day, Louis couldn’t wait to see some of the zoo’s animals.
The next special event at the zoo is Mother’s Day on May 9, when the zoo will be turned into a spa.
