Halifax Regional Police say a man exited his vehicle and asked four children to get in his car and help him look for his missing dog over the weekend.

Police say the incident took place on Herbert Street in Dartmouth at about 11 a.m. on Saturday.

Police say the four children, aged eight to 10, were approached by the man who they say was a stranger. After being asked to get in his car by the unknown man, police say the children ran to one of their homes.

Police haven’t been able to speak with the man to determine what his intentions were, but credit the children for acting appropriately. None of the children were harmed.
