Don’t expect many Korean dishes for lunch at Koko! Share Bar.
However, you are welcome to choose from the dinner menu (but do you want to spend $22 on an entrée for lunch?).
We decided to stick with the lunch one.
Korean BBQ ($9.50) is a bento box of sorts, beginning with miso soup served in a white mug and ginger dressed spring mix salad.
Thinly-sliced strips of marinated ribeye steak are richly flavoured. Steamed rice and two crabmeat maki make for a filling, and satisfying meal.
Makimono Assortment ($11.50) is served with miso soup and salad as well.
The rolls — Dynamite (tempura shrimp with avocado and cucumber, rolled in fish eggs) and a mix of tuna, salmon, butterfish and spicy dressing — are enticing, both in texture and flavour. Nothing new here, but well executed.
Great food in an elegant, modern space. It’s just disappointing there are not more Korean choices.
