Rose Byrne hated living in “vacuous” Los Angeles, femalefirst.co.uk reports.
The Australian-born actress moved to the U.S. city while she was promoting her movies Troy and Wicker Park in 2004, but struggled to adjust because she couldn’t separate herself from her work.
She said: “It is pretty vacuous a lot of the time. It is just that thing of when you go out, you feel like you are always networking. It is sometimes hard to have a conversation about something else.
“I don’t know how you can be an artist trying to represent someone’s life, if all you’re doing is being involved in the film industry.”
