Olivier Lacoste-Lebuis of Montreal and Monica Lam-Feist were named Canada's under-17 soccer players of the year Sunday.
Lacoste-Lebuis, 16, is a member of Canada's under-17 national squad and helped the team earn a win and tie against two losses at the CONCACAF under-17 championship in Kingston, Jamaica. He also played for Canada's under-20 team at the FIFA under-20 World Cup.
Lam-Feist, 16, of Surrey, B.C., played for Canada's under-17 squad. She had a goal in a 3-0 exhibition win over Chile and also played for the national development team that finished first at the International Soccer Festival in Alabama. Lam-Feist is also expected to be a key player for Canada at the first-ever FIFA under-17 women's World Cup, which will be held in New Zealand later this year.
