The World offers authentic Caribbean fare at reasonable prices. And located right across from Broadview Station, it’s couldn’t be more accessible.
Take out is a great option for lunch, but we dine in. The black and orange walls have little decoration, other than TV projected onto the large back wall. Curried Goat ($10.99) and Jerk Chicken ($10.99), two classic Jamaican dishes win us over once they finally arrive at our table. Cubes of goat are covered in a thick, rich curry and highly seasoned chicken is tender and moist, but watch out for bones. Each is accompanied by a small iceberg lettuce salad and a heaping pile of tasty rice and beans. You get your money’s worth here for sure.
We wash it down with refreshing, not-too-spicy Homemade Ginger Beer ($3).
The pace here is slow, so sit back and enjoy the fantastic food and relaxed vibe.
