Local taxi driver Beyene Ferede has been on the receiving end of frustrated comments from bar patrons unable to get a ride home in the past.
That’s why he’s in favour of extending the closing times of local licensed establishments past 3 a.m. — a proposal that has been put forward by Calgary police and will be discussed with establishment owners during a meeting today.
“Everybody wants a cab and we can’t service everybody,” Ferede said. “But if it’s extended it would be better for the customers, they won’t have to rush.”
