Members of Nova Scotia’s newly elected New Democratic government will rub shoulders with federal NDP leader Jack Layton this week.
Layton is expected to arrive in Halifax today to meet with Premier Darrell Dexter and tour some of the province’s ridings before attending the federal NDP convention this Friday at the World Trade and Convention Centre in the downtown core.
Ridings Layton plans to see leading up to this weekend's convention include Chester-St Margaret’s and Lunenburg, a news release said yesterday, with details of his schedule to be released soon.
“I am thrilled that New Democrats from coast to coast to coast will be gathering in Nova Scotia next week,” Layton said in the release. “This is a beautiful province with wonderful people and each of these communities has a story we need to hear.”
