Len Duckworth’s fish: Fresh, light, tasty and crispy

Ooh! I love the old tyme feel here. Len Duckworth’s has been around since 1930 and now his grandson cooks up the fish at this location — which offers a ton of seating as well as take-out.

It’s wonderful to have a choice of fish (halibut, sole, haddock, blue cod) and seafood (shrimps, scallops).

I get the Eat In Only House Special ($9.95) – Halibut, Small Chips, Coleslaw, Slice of Bread and Tea, Coffee or Pop. My companion gets the Seafood Platter ($12.95) – Halibut (he substitutes Cod), Shrimp, Scallops, Chips and Coleslaw.

What makes the meal so good is the quality of everything — large shrimp, fresh filet of cod, thick, moist haddock, fresh potatoes and homemade coleslaw. The batter is light and crisp without being greasy and there is more than enough on your plate to fill you.

Thank goodness it’s close to the subway. We’ll be back. Maybe even tomorrow.
