The City of Vancouver has stocked up on snow removal equipment in anticipation of an extra snowy winter this year.
“It would be Bob the Builder’s mecca,” said a city spokeswoman yesterday. On the fleet are 51 trucks with plows, 17 backhoes, several Bombardier tractors and one large self-propelled snow blower, among others. “We’ve reviewed operations since the last big snow event and we learned a number of lessons,” she said.
“We are finalizing plans around (those) changes and that’s going to council on Thursday.”
