Let the Internet do some of your legwork

With more than 200 condominium projects for sale in the Toronto area, zeroing in on just the right one for you can seem overwhelming. The unprecedented choice works in your favour, but where do you begin? If you’re computer savvy, your initial shopping can be done in the comfort of your home while you’re still in your pyjamas and robe!

Over the past few years, the popularity of scoping out developers’ websites as a launching pad for a condo search has risen dramatically. At Monarch, our sales representatives tell us that potential purchasers come into the sales offices holding printouts of specific layouts they’re considering. They have already surfed many sites and compared location, architecture, amenities, features and prices, and they’re ready for in-person visits to refine their search even further.

The web offers a fantastic first glance, with most condominium sites offering a building rendering, area amenities map, and background information on the builder. Renderings of the building amenities provide you with a visual image of what are essentially extensions of your living space. You will usually find the actual floorplans on the website and some indication of which floors the different designs are on. Plus, most sites include a list of suite features, so you can compare apples to apples during your search. And that’s important. Comparison shopping is great, as long as you compare fairly.

Some builders also include prices and up-to-date information on any bonus packages that might be in effect at the moment. We also offer a handy search capability that allows you to key in the city, type of home you’re interested in, price range and number of bedrooms to help you hone your shopping even more.

Although the majority of web visitors prefer to make an in-person trip to the sales office to get a feel for the builder’s quality and design flair, the Internet has made it possible to shop for a suite and make a purchase decision without even visiting Toronto. This city is becoming so well known on a worldwide basis that some international purchasers who know what they want are using the Internet as the ultimate electronic tool.

Wherever you fit into the condominium picture, make the most of websites before you walk into sales offices.

When you do that homework ahead of time, you have an easier time of finding the ideal suite that is the perfect home for you!
