Your cartoon (Michael de Adder) in the April 19 paper, a jab at youth participation in voting, both shocks and offends me.

Toronto. Your cartoon (Michael de Adder) in the April 19 paper, a jab at youth participation in voting, both shocks and offends me.

As a student committed to voting this election, I find this cartoon distasteful.

You should encourage the youth to vote, not depict us hard-working students as lazy. Youth do not vote because we feel we have no voice, nor do we feel as if our elected officials really address the issues that affect us.

What can the federal or local leaders do for me as a student who has been unemployed for more than two years?

Maybe we don’t feel the need to vote because of all the arbitrary political rhetoric that is thrown around in the media and between leaders; we are spectators who are getting scolded for not jumping into a game in which we don’t even feel part of.

@murphymichael: Dear Liberal Ad writers: You can’t call @jacklayton a career politician, then turn around and say he’s too inexperienced to govern. #elxn41
