Change City

Letters to the editor: Tuesday January 4, 2011

I would have to say the terrorist attacks on New York City in 2001, which changed everything. It caused panic all over the world. It raised security concerns everywhere and our sense of freedom was taken away. From Sept. 11, 2001, to this day everything has changed. <br />

We asked: What will define the decade of 2000-10?

Whitby. I would have to say the terrorist attacks on New York City in 2001, which changed everything. It caused panic all over the world. It raised security concerns everywhere and our sense of freedom was taken away. From Sept. 11, 2001, to this day everything has changed.

Many lost their lives on that tragic day and many more have lost their lives fighting (against terrorism). Besides all that, we live our lives in a state of “being on edge” and that alone has defined this decade. The decade when the world changed and the days when North Americans realized we weren’t invincible.

Allan Easson, Whitby

Toronto. I would say it was the 9-11 terrorist attacks on the U.S. because it changed so much in terms of how people think and how the world operates.

Sarah Evans, Toronto

Toronto. Social injustice will define the decade. The financial gluttony of the super rich will be seen as widening the divide between rich and poor, causing poverty and polluting the environment.

Ted Cruddas, Toronto
