People for good. This afternoon I took the 511 streetcar home. At one stop a senior fell down and collapsed at about 10 metres on the way to the streetcar.
The female driver immediately rushed to the senior, helped him stand up, asked him if he was OK and collected all his belongings. After replying OK, she helped him get on the streetcar and put all his stuff around him. When the streetcar got to the Queen Street stop, she helped the senior get off. The senior tried to climb the curb. When the driver saw this, she jumped out of the streetcar again and intercepted a taxi, when the senior tried to refuse her help, she told him she would pay the taxi for him.
Then what I saw was she paid the taxi driver from her own pocket, as the driver took him to hospital and helped the senior get into the cab with extreme care. When she returned back to the streetcar, everyone on the car burst into applause. “You are so fantastic,” one lady told the driver. Another passenger handed the driver a bottle of water and asked if she is thirsty.
