A notorious south-side bar is on the ropes.
The city has revoked the business licence of the Windmill Bar and Grill in Millbourne shopping mall.
Sgt. Gary Godziuk of the Public Safety Compliance Team said yesterday police were frequently sent to the Windmill, receiving 67 calls last year alone.
“[The calls] were for stabbings, to possession of weapons, to a bear-spray incident to a large-scale fight,” said Godziuk.
The Public Safety Compliance team requested a review — problems ranged from insufficient security to the bar having a negative effect on the neighbourhood — and the licence was stripped.
If the bar owners appeal and it goes through, Godziuk said the Windmill would still have to fix some of the problems, such as hiring well-trained security staff.
