Lift your spirits and Dine Out Vancouver

One of the city’s most anticipated annual culinary events begins next week, and 40,000 people have already taken a sneak peak online at the menus for this year’s Dine Out Vancouver.

Reservations for Dine Out Vancouver, which lets foodies dine at high-end restaurants for low-end prices, are being taken at 193 establishments around the city.

Participating outlets offer three-course menus for the fixed prices of $18, $28 and $38 from Jan. 14 to Feb. 1.

Rick Antonson, president and CEO of Tourism Vancouver, said this is the event’s biggest year to date.

“We started with 57 restaurants seven years ago,” he said.

“People (from abroad) say Vancouver’s dining scene is one of the best in the world. When the world celebrates it, we should as well.”

Rafael Gonzalez, executive chef at Yew Restaurant and Bar at the Four Seasons Hotel, said Dine Out Vancouver gives diners and restaurants something to look forward to during drizzly January.

“It gets your name out there, especially (during) one of the slowest times of the year,” he said.
